Hours

Parks & trails are open from 6:00am to dusk.

Motorized Vehicles

Speed limit is 10mph.
-
Please drive on designated park roadways and park in designated parking areas only.

The Head to Bay trail is for pedestrians, not motorized vehicles.
-
Motorized mobility devices serving persons with disabilities are exempt from the above prohibitions.

Parking

Parking facilities are reserved for park and trail users.

Please park in designated parking areas to avoid being towed.

Overnight parking is not allowed.

Fires & Camping
-
No open fires.
-
Fires are allowed in fire rings, fireplaces, portable propane camp stoves, and charcoal barbeque units, where picnic tables are provided.

Taking firewood for personal use is prohibited.

Overnight camping during hours of closure is prohibited.

Fireworks & Explosives

Fireworks and explosives are prohibited.

Smoking

No smoking and/or carrying a lighted smoking device.

Commercial Activity

Selling merchandise or services requires a vendor permit.

Alcohol
-
Alcohol is prohibited, except when authorized by special event or vendor permit.

Animals
-
Animals must be on a leash, except in designated off-leash areas.

Owners must immediately remove their animals' fecal matter.

Animals are prohibited from:

Playground areas

Sports fields and courts

Ponds, streams, and wetland areas

Inside park and recreation facilities, except as authorized under the Americans with Disabilities Act

Horses/Ponies are prohibited, except upon a roadway, designated parking area, or designated bridle path.

Litter & Garbage
-
Litter must be disposed of properly or removed from park if bin is full.

No household trash/landscaping materials.

Protection of Park & Open Space Facilities, Flora, & Fauna
-
Digging, removing, or cutting trees, plants, or other forest product is prohibited.
-
Small quantities of berries, mushrooms, or other products may be collected for personal use.
-
Hunting, trapping, or disturbing fish, fowl, birds, or wildlife is prohibited.
-
No fish cleaning/field dressing game.
-
Damaging, defacing, or moving any building, monument, sign, fence, bench, fountain, or other park feature is prohibited.
-
Nails, screws, or other foreign objects may not be driven into trees, vegetation, or city facilities.
-
Trees/shrubs cannot be used as poles for game nets, hammocks, or swings.
-
No posting of signs, banners, or flyers.
-
Metal detectors are allowed with a permit.

Amplified Sound

Amplified sound requires a special events permit.

Dangerous Equipment & Activities
-
Engaging activity that creates an unreasonable risk to other persons is prohibited. Such activities include, but are not limtied to:

Firearms or weapon discharge

Use of golf clubs and balls
-
Archery
-
Discus, javelin, or shot put
-
Metal spike lawn darts
-
Horseshoes
-
Model aircraft
-

Activities that may be hazardous to persons using park or open space lands, which may damage facilities, grass, or foliage or activities which may unreasonably conflict with other authorized uses are restricted to areas designated for such activities.

Free Use - Permits & Fees Required

The city of Lincoln City allows free recreational use of city parks, open space properties, and facilities, consistent with recreational immunity statutes.
-
Exclusive use of a park or facility requires a permit.
-
Permits are not issued for open space lands.
-
Exclusive use permit applications can be found online or can be picked up at the Lincoln City Community Center.
-
Special event permit applications can be found online or can be picked up at City Hall.

Dog Park
-
Dogs must display tags showing proof of current license and rabies vaccination
-
Puppies must have a complete cycle of vaccinations before entering the off-leash area
-
Dogs must demonstrate appropriate social interaction
-
Dogs displaying aggressive behavior must be leashed and removed from off-leash area
-
Dogs in heat are not allowed in off-leash area
-
Balls and dog toys are permitted, as long as they don't create conflicts with other dogs.

Dog handlers must:

Carry a leash for each dog in their care

Must remain in off-leash area
-
Keep their dog within view and under verbal control
-
Remove pinch, choke, and spiked collars when off-leash

Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult
-
Strollers and infants are not allowed in the off-leash area
-
Humans may not run or bring food into the off-leash area
